- About Me:
- I am 28 years old working as a continuous improvement engineer focused on implementing lean manufacturing across our corporation. I have a BS in chemical engineering, an MS in manufacturing systems, and am currently working on an MBA.
I work long hard hours and do not mind one bit. I would like for my name to be on the front of the building. I am taking this phase of my career as learning period to shape and develop an idea into a business for myself and my family.
- What is your business passion?
- My passion is making things better. This passion is seen in every aspect of my life. In my work life, I try make our business better. In personal time I work to make myself better. I enjoy reading to further educate myself and I enjoy working out. I love to lift weights and jog.
- What makes my business unique?
- I don't have a business yet but what I do have so far is experience to build on. I have worked as a continuous improvement engineer for a segment of the corporation that includes 6 business units. Each of the six businesses are very different but in some ways the same. This broad experience has given me a great perspective to build and develop a business idea.
- What business opportunities are you looking for?
- I am open to anything that is legally and morally sound.
- My Big Business Idea is:
- I would like to find a way to help small and mid sized business network together to gain the power to compete globally. For example, most small businesses operate on 1 or 2 shifts. What if leveraging several businesses together allowed them to get work to fill the excess capacity. A small machining company may not be big enough to fulfill a major contract but put a few of them together and they can. I want to find a way to help make that happen... and take a small cut for myself.
I beleive that global competition and globalization is a good thing. However, I don't want to see everything leave America. The way to keep business in America is to do things better here. Finding a way to allow small business to fill this void that big business left behind is the answer.
- Describe Your Favorite Success Story:
- I have so many... I love stories of poor and middle class people from rural areas that make it big. Sam Walton and Harlan Sanders are the first to come to mind. These stories are inspirational because I too come from the same background.
